It was so exciting to read these. They weren’t very long, but they were interesting and provided a view of their life.
Will our great great grandchildren be able to find such things. How long has it been since I wrote a letter? Since 2006, I wrote DeborahWaitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10068687106436841309noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4381778479103352635.post-38397956735548507072010-12-03T19:15:00.000-08:002010-12-03T19:15:35.645-08:00Google EarthThe new Google Earth is awesome! Ok, we can't go back to the 1800's or even the 1960's with the new historical time line, but look at NYC and the twin towers. Galveston and the changes from the hurricane can be viewed. This program should not be overlooked by genealogist.DeborahWaitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10068687106436841309noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4381778479103352635.post-59309927755408158112010-11-30T09:57:00.000-08:002010-11-30T09:57:32.733-08:00Possible ConnectionAs I was researching Russel Shepard's family I found that one of his sisters Eunice married a Henry Wait. It appears they moved to Owego, but many of the children's names match those of our Wait/Waite family. I also believe one of is children moved to and area that has a DNA connection.
This needs more research!DeborahWaitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10068687106436841309noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4381778479103352635.post-3273003562427702482010-11-19T19:57:00.000-08:002010-11-19T19:57:06.090-08:00Christmas GiftsWhat Christmas gifts last? I was thinking today about all the gift's that me or my kids have been given over the years. Which ones do we still have or do we remember? What has been handed down and treasured?
The wooden rocking chair that mom gave Shara, Kaiden now enjoys it. The cradle dad made me when I was little, it's in the attic, I need to get it down and take it back to him so the legs canDeborahWaitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10068687106436841309noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4381778479103352635.post-64657423972839817422010-11-16T17:04:00.000-08:002010-11-16T17:04:16.194-08:00Death of a friendGenealogist thrive on recording births, marriages and deaths, but when you have to record the deaths of those who you enjoyed sharing your hobby with there is a sense of loss. It's different then when when a close family member passes. It's often a loss that you don't learn about in time to attend the funeral. It may be weeks or month before you learn they are gone. It's a different loss, not as DeborahWaitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10068687106436841309noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4381778479103352635.post-8243921132002940152010-11-11T16:18:00.000-08:002010-11-11T16:20:36.725-08:00Find a GraveThis is a wonderful site, I wish I had found it sooner. I am surprised how many of my ancestors are already listed. Many with out photos, I have a lot of work to do.
Loved ones can leave flowers and messages even if they can't visit the grave in person.

We had the trip all planned out, it was to end with Family History Day. Then everything changed and my parents can't go. I have decided to change things around and save my family for later to do with mom.
Now it's a race to figure out where we want to go and who we will research. I will DeborahWaitehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10068687106436841309noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4381778479103352635.post-32381362200439820892010-10-07T09:57:00.000-07:002010-10-07T16:54:42.863-07:00Living MembersI started this blog because I agreed to do a presentation for the Phelps Genealogy Club on "Exchanging and Sharing Information with Caution & Networking". As I work on this and read about different ways of advancing your research (the networking part), I find my self coming up with more and more ideas of ways I can advance my research.
